Sound Sleep Guru

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?

SSG will submit claims for most commercial plans for out of network benefits.  Payment is due at the time of service, but if out of network benefits are available you will be reimbursed for payments made by insurance.  Insurance billing for Medicare, Medicaid, or Tricare plans is not available.  It is your responsibility to verify your out of network coverage directly with your insurance carrier.

Which medical conditions do you treat?

Sound Sleep Guru specializes in behavioral sleep medicine which focuses on non-pharmacological treatment of insomnia (CBT-I), screening and comprehensive management of obstructive sleep apnea including PAP care and coordination of care to a multidisciplinary team of specialists.  Sound Sleep Guru can provide advice and consultation for pharmacological management of conditions such as narcolepsy type 1/type 2, idiopathic hypersomnia, parasomnias, and chronic insomnia, but we do not offer prescribing as we feel these cases are best managed in a comprehensive sleep clinic with in person visits.  We do not offer consultation for general neurology concerns.

Does Dr. Broderick prescribe medications?

Dr. Broderick is a medical doctor and can prescribe medications.  However, in the telehealth setting coordination with a local primary care doctor is usually recommended.  Dr. Broderick does not prescribe controlled substances via telehealth.
